Call for Papers

ICITIE is organized by IICREST – Interdisciplinary Institute for Collaboration and Research on Enterprise Systems and Technology
SCOPE

The International Conference on IT-enabled Innovation in Enterprise aims to provide a premier forum for the presentation and discussion of business and organisational innovation associated with Information Technology (IT).

In a global and interconnected economy of the 21st century innovation management is an important aspect for enterprise sustainability and survival. Over the last years the topic has attracted large interest from research and practitioners alike. An organisation’s competitive advantage depends on the ability of its people, processes, and systems to manage innovation and seek sustainability. Innovation Management has been discussed and examined from a variety of perspectives, including behavioural, managerial, strategic and technological. In this regard, information technology and technology innovation are frequently referred as enablers and facilitators of innovation.

With this conference we intend to complement the mostly behavioural and technology centred discussion on innovation. The aim of this conference is to examine how information technology enables and generates innovation and thus provides value to enterprises. The goal of this conference is to discuss and share best practices, experiences, models, methods and tools for innovation and enterprise renewal.

The conference seeks contributions on real-world business and organisational applications, management concepts, models, methods and tools associated with information technology enabled innovation. In this regard, we encourage the submission of design science research for innovation management in the form of constructs, models, methods and instantiations. In-line with the aim of this conference, contributions must highlight the value and innovation driven by information technology in enterprise.

The idea of the conference is to provide a forum and platform for both researchers and practitioners to exchange knowledge, ideas and to learn from each other. Practitioners and researchers present findings and experience. In addition to the official program, there is plenty of opportunity for informal discussions and networking.

We invite contributions from industry, academia and collaborative research as well as encourage postgraduate researchers to submit their work. Submissions may be any of the following: research papers, short papers, research in progress, case studies, teaching cases or experience reports.

Venue

Greece, located in the southeastern Europe, is a very beautiful country that offers top quality tourist attractions to the visitor. Consisting of the main land and several islands, it offers beautiful beaches, lovely mountain landscapes, many picturesque villages, and a wealth of archaeological sites and treasures.
Piraeus, Greece's third largest urban centre and now part of the Athens metropolitan area, is located a few minutes away from the center of Athens - Greece's capital named after Athena, the goddess of wisdom, is a very attractive and busy city.
Piraeus has the biggest harbour in all Greece and one of the most important in the mediterranean. At the top of that harbour, many little picturesque and lively bays may be found having many excellent cafeterias and traditional Greek restaurants and taverns.
Piraeus is an ideal place to start off excursions both for island cruising and mainland sightseeing. There are many boats that start off their journey to the numerous beautiful Greek islands from the harbour of Piraeus which is the main connection point to all of the Greek islands.
The conference will be held at the University of Piraeus, which was founded in 1938 under the title of the “School for Industrial Studies” and located in a modern building in the centre of Piraeus (one of the 8 universities in the region of Athens), in collaboration with the department of informatics. The department began operating in 1992 and focuses on both theoretical and practical aspects and advancements of computer science.
